A couple of days ago when I finished my afternoon shift, Mike picked me up from work.
In the car, for the first time, he sounded concern over my BFF.
That’s when I got the news about the Victoria Bushfire.
And obviously, the BFF is fine lah! A quote from his sms- “If the fire reaches him, the whole of Melbourne would be gone!”. And noooo!! I don’t want that to happen of course! I still wanna go back to Melbourne one day!! At least Melbourne is paradise compared to Perth.
In that case, I guess everyone would have known or at least heard about the worst bushfire disaster over at the state of Victoria in Australia by now hey?

Interestingly, it got the whole family talking about it and Kel stunned me with this question:
What would you take along with you if the bushfire is 200m away from our house? So my answer was that I’m gonna take my passport just for the sake of my identity and run out of the house and help anyone else out of the bushfire lor.
Obviously Kel wasn’t really impressed with the answer and said about the fire is still 200m away and I can take more stuff with me blah.
So fine, my final answer is this:
I’m gonna take my bag (which includes all my daily barangs inside- ipod, hp, wallet, sunnies, ds lite, organiser.),
throw whatever I see into it (in that case most prolly would be the makeup bag, parfum, $$). And of course I’ll
carry my lappie and take all my valuable items (all the Gucci, LV, TIFF & Co lol) and
grab a few clothes and maybe shoes.
Guess what Kel said?
“You not gonna take your photos meh? You have so many of them on the walls. And BTW, mum said in her case, she will grab the photos collage off the wall”
Laugh at Kel. Well, this is how big Shirley’s collage is:

Of course in Shirley’s case that piece of work is valuable to her as she puts in her heart and soul to it just to regularly develop the photos and update them- sometimes putting up our ugliest photos too for the sake of art!
So what would you take along with you if the bushfire is 200m away from your house?
The bushfire has so far taken away hundreds lives and homes and leaving those left behind homeless.
And you know what, I have never imagine how scary a bushfire is. Well, I guess coming from Singapore, we’re used to staying in an apartment. And in any case if a fire breaks out, you know you are still left with a home. It might be all dirty and stinking and nothing might be left but there is still a roof over your head. A shelter for the family to return and rebuild their house. But after staying over here for close to 2 years, I can totally understand how devastating this catastrophe is. Having your house wipe out from the bushfire, and seeing nothing is left behind.
Omg, that is haunting! So let’s say a prayer tonight and be blessed that we still have a roof over our head! Dont forget to do your part for the
Austalian Red Cross too!!
